Sasha Calle’s Supergirl to team with Michael Keaton’s Batman in HBO Max series?

September 28, 2021 by EJ Moreno

They’ll be appearing together in The Flash movie, and if a new rumour is accurate, Sasha Calle’s Supergirl could be set to reunite with Michael Keaton’s Batman on HBO Max.

A new rumor claims that Warner Bros. and DC’s long-planned Supergirl movie has been retooled and will instead be heading to the streaming service as a TV series as “a result of script rewrites”.

Per That Hashtag Show, the alleged series will star Calle as the title character and see Michael Keaton’s Bruce Wayne/Batman featuring in a guest-starring role. The reports note that Superman will not appear, although other Kryptonians might.

Keaton will make his Batman return in The Flash, the upcoming DCEU film directed by Andy Muschietti. Original reports surrounding his casting claimed that he was being eyed for future roles as the DCEU’s new (old) Dark Knight, including a potential appearance in the Supergirl movie.

The Flash will see the return of Ezra Miller as Barry Allen alongside Zack Snyder’s Justice League co-stars Ben Affleck as Batman and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, while Batman and Batman Returns’ Michael Keaton also reprises the role of The Dark Knight. DCEU newcomers include Ron Livingston (Office Space) as Henry Allen, Maribel Verdu (Pan’s Labyrinth) as Nora Allen, and Sasha Calle (The Young and the Restless) as Supergirl.

The Flash is set for release on November 4th, 2022.
