Sci-fi detective adventure Between Horizons coming to consoles

September 11, 2024 by Andrew Newton

Assemble Entertainment and DigiTales Interactive’s 2.5D sci-fi detective adventure Between Horizons will release on Xbox Series X|S, Playstation 5 and Nintendo Switch on 19th September.  There’s a conspiracy afoot aboard the interstellar spaceship Zephyr and it’s up to players to find out who is behind it and stop them before the whole mission is ruined.  You can see more of this sci-fi detective adventure in the new console trailer below…

In Between Horizons the spaceship Zephyr is decades into its mission to travel to a distant star but a growing conspiracy threatens to destabilise the ship’s social order and ruin the mission.  Players will need to step aboard the ship and take the role of Stella, the recently appointed Chief of Security, and discover who is plotting to throw the whole mission into chaos.

Players will encounter branching storylines while they explore and investigate the ship and will need to make decisions that will impact the overall story. Making important decisions is at the heart of Between Horizons and players may need to re-evaluate their moral compass in order to find the guilty party before it’s too late.  There’s no wrong decisions, just decisions that will make the next choice more difficult.

Between Horizons features:

  • A merging of investigative-style gameplay with a branching sci-fi story set in an ‘ever-expanding small open-world environment‘.
  • A flexible evidence system that allows players to confront ship residents and submit cases with evidence.
  • Thought-provoking problems designed to make players weigh intergenerational responsibility against personal freedom.
  • A unique and beautiful art style created from a blending of 3D environments and pixel art.
  • An auto-save system that will allow no second chances when submitting the wrong solutions. Players will have to live with the consequences.

Between Horizons arrives on consoles on 19th September.
