Season 4 of Fortnite starts with a bang

May 1, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Epic Games have started season 4 of Fortnite off with a bang as whole sections of the landscape have been changed by shards of a massive comet that has crashed into the map.  The latest season will have players fighting over a changed map, eating space rocks for near superhuman powers and discovering lots new rewards and items.  You can check out the new trailer announcing Season 4 below…

A new feature this season are the gravity defying Hop Rocks which, when consumed will allow players to lift off thanks to low gravity.  These rocks can be discovered in and around the huge crater made by the comet when it struck the map.

As mentioned above the map has been transformed due to the impact of the comet, this means that there’s a good chance that your favorite landing spot has been changed (for the better or worse) however, on the plus side there are lots of new points of interest to discover.

For Save the World there is a whole new blockbuster event that will see players join Spitfire and Lok as they investigate the comet.  There’s plenty of new loot to be gained and enemies now have a chance to drop building materials, crafting ingredients, ammo and even schematics.

You can check out the full patch notes here.

Brace for impact! Season 4 starts with a BANG. Play now!

Play Fortnite Battle Royale, the completely free 100-player PvP mode. One giant map, A Battle Bus, Last one standing wins.
