UPDATE: Set photos from Arrowverse crossover ‘Elseworlds’ feature Superman’s black suit and The Monitor

Earlier today we brought you the news that John Wesley Shipp is set to don his classic Flash costume from the 1990s TV series in this year’s big DC crossover from The CW, and with filming on ‘Elseworlds’ continuing we now have a couple of new set photos which give us another look at Tyler Hoechlin’s Superman in his black costume; check them out via Twitter below…

UPDATE: And here’s some photos showing Hoechlin in his red and blue suit, reportedly battling his black-suited doppelganger (thanks to MarkClarkMov for the heads up in the comments!)…

Meanwhile, we can also throw another character into the mix, with a set photo showing actor LaMonica Garrett (Designated Survivor) as The Monitor, “an extraterrestrial being of infinite power”, who in the comics is the twin brother of the Anti-Monitor, the villain from the Crisis on Infinite Earths event.

‘Elseworlds’ begins with The Flash on December 9th, followed by Arrow on December 10th and Supergirl on December 11th. In addition to Grant Gustin (The Flash), Stephen Amell (Green Arrow) and Melissa Benoist (Supergirl), it is set to feature guest appearances from Tyler Hoechlin (Superman), Ruby Rose (Batwoman), Elizabeth Tulloch (Lois Lane), John Wesley Shipp (Jay Garrick/The Flash), Cassandra Jean Amell (Nora Fries), LaMonica Garrett (The Monitor) and Jeremy Davis (Dr. John Deegan).
