Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn gets a new trailer and playable demo

August 6, 2024 by Andrew Newton

As the release date for Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn draws ever closer (29th August), ININ has announced that pre-orders are now available Xbox and Nintendo Switch.  There’s also a new playable demo out now for the Xbox and Switch and coming soon to the Playstation.  A new trailer can be seen below…

Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn takes players to a dystopian future ruled over by the ruthless Emperor Garuda.  Determined to make the world a better place, two assassins are despatched to take out the Emperor and his guards.  Taking the role of Hayate and Kaede, players will need to fight through 5 enemy-filled stages to end the Emperor’s reign and avenge those who have suffered at the hands of his brutality.

This remake of the 1990’s side-scrolling action game will come with a wealth of awesome features, including:

  • A variety of deadly weapons that expands on those used in the NES version such as caltrops, shurikens and more.
  • Five completely recreated stages with challenging platform puzzles and deceptively devious traps, and a 6th brand new stage.
  • Invite a friend round and enjoy some good old-fashioned couch co-op.
  • A fresh new look with modern in-game sprite art as a faithful update to the 8-bit original.
  • Enjoy the key visuals and characters illustrated by Dynamic Productions, the same illustrators who gave us the art of the classic 90’s title.
  • A belting soundtrack created by the legendary Hiroyuki Iwatsuki and Iku Mizutani.

Shadow of the Ninja – Reborn arrives on  PS4, PS5, Xbox Series, Nintendo Switch and Steam on 29th August.  A Digital Deluxe Edition will also be released for the PS4, PS5 and Nintendo Switch, and will include the digital soundtrack.
