Shattered Empire update arrives for Abandon Ship

February 1, 2019 by Andrew Newton

Fireblade Software has announced the release of the Shattered Empire update for their naval exploration and combat game Abandon Ship.  This brand new update introduces three new regions to explore, a new weapon to punish enemies and much more.  Check out the new trailer below to find out what is new in the update…

There’s three new regions available to unlock once players reach Act 2.  These regions are:

  • The Howling Seas – a region continuously battered by blizzards with the only port being Wight’s Embrace.  During combat the blizzards will cause both crews to do nothing but shield themselves against the elements or face being blown into the icy deep.  This harsh wintry region hides some very strange islands and equally strange events.
  • Forsaken Seas – This is an area that has suffered a great geological upheaval and has been abandoned.  Only looters and opportunists roam these waters so combat may not be frequent, however when combat does happen a poisonous fog will obscure visibility and sap the health of both crews until it reaches the red portion of the health bar.
  • The Shattered Empire – This former prosperous region borders hostile areas such as the Forsaken Seas, Spider Islands and Cannibal Islands.  Broken monuments, cursed waters and a plague colony lay in these waters.

The Plague Colony mentioned above will also be the only location where players can locate the new Plague Dart weapon but you’ll have to break through the blockade to get it.  The Plague Dart is a swivel gun that will instantly cap the enemies health at 66% and anyone within close proximity of the target will also become infected.

Other new additions with this update include a new Arid biome which comes with a Mediterranean feel, the new Lighthouse structure with its stock of maps of the local area, and a new compass that will show the direction to undiscovered points of interest.

The Shattered Empire update is available now. Fell free to message us on Twitter @FMyth_Gaming with your thoughts!
