Shining Vale pays homage to classic horror with season 2 posters

October 3, 2023 by Amie Cranswick

With a little over a week to go until Shining Vale returns for its second season, a batch of posters have arrived online for the comedy horror series which pay homage to classic and cult horror films The Exorcist, Donnie Darko, Mommie Dearest, The Others, The Ring, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest, Cujo, and The Shining; take a look here…

Season 2 picks up after the chaotic Season 1 finale when Pat (Courteney Cox) lands herself in a psychiatric hospital for trying to murder her family with an ax. While there, she went through extensive Electroshock Therapy, and when she returns home she meets a mysterious woman who introduces her to a host of ancient remedies used to “cure” women of depression, including the apocryphal Smile Masks. It will also explore what’s in store for the Phelps family as they continue to be haunted by ghosts while Pat struggles to live with mental illness in a broken family, battling demons both internally…and externally.

Shining Vale stars Courtney Cox, Greg Kinnear, Mira Sorvino, Gus Birney, Merrin Dungey, Dylan Gage, Judith Light, Allison Tolman and Sherilyn Fenn.

Shining Vale Season 2 will premiere October 13th on Starz in the US and on Lionsgate+ in the UK.
