Sons of Anarchy spin off Mayans MC casts John Ortiz

February 23, 2017 by Samuel Brace

Following the casting of Edward James Olmos and Clayton Cardenas, we have now learned via Deadline that John Ortiz has become the latest addition to FX’s Sons of Anarchy spin-off Mayans MC.

The spinoff is set to take place on the Mexico border and will explore the inner workings of the Mayans MC charter through the eyes of EZ Reyes, a man who struggles with his desire for vengeance against the cartel as well as his need for respect from the women he loves.

John Ortiz will join the cast as Esai “Taino” Osorio, President of the San Padres Mayans MC charter, who is described as both smart and deadly.

No word has yet been announced on who will be portraying the show’s main character EZ Reyes.
