Spider-Man: Far From Home director and writers want Kraven as a future villain

July 9, 2019 by Samuel Brace

The director and writers of Spider-Man: Far From Home would like to see Kraven make an appearance in the MCU as a future villain for Peter.

Now that Mysterio has come and gone in Far From Home, what future villains can we look forward to in the third Spider-Man movie? Well, director Jon Watts and writers of Far From Home Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers have some ideas.

Speaking to Uproxx, Watts seemed excited about the prospect of having Kraven appear in the next film: “Oh, I would love Kraven. It’s just the trick of how do you do Kraven in a movie?”.

And in an interview with ComicBook.com, co-writer Erik Sommers said the following when asked about future villains he would like to see: “I’ve always had a soft spot for Kraven the Hunter.”

McKenna added another name to the list: “We read a lot of [Spider-Man’s] comics that were fun. There were some really great storylines with him. Spot seems like a really cool villain.”

Sony may well throw a spanner in the works for Watts, as the studio is developing a Kraven the Hunter solo movie as part of its Universe of Marvel Characters (which, according to screenwriter Richard Wenk, will see the villain “coming face-to-face with Spider-Man).

Peter Parker returns in Spider-Man: Far From Home, the next chapter of the Spider-Man: Homecoming series! Our friendly neighborhood Super Hero decides to join his best friends Ned, MJ, and the rest of the gang on a European vacation. However, Peter’s plan to leave super heroics behind for a few weeks are quickly scrapped when he begrudgingly agrees to help Nick Fury uncover the mystery of several elemental creature attacks, creating havoc across the continent!

Spider-Man: Far From Home will be released on July 2nd and features the return of Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Marisa Tomei (Aunt May), Zendaya (Michelle), Jacob Batalon (Ned Leeds), Angourie Rice (Betty Brant), Tony Revolori (Flash Thompson), Martin Star (Mr. Harrington), Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury) and Cobie Smulders (Maria Hill), with Jake Gyllenhaal (Nightcrawler) as Mysterio.
