SPOILER: Returning MCU villain revealed for Avengers 4

October 25, 2018 by Gary Collinson

While Avengers 4 is set to pit Earth’s Mightiest Heroes (well, the ones who aren’t dust, anyway) against Thanos once again, it seems the Mad Titan won’t be the only returning villain to make an appearance in the Avengers: Infinity War follow-up.

Back in September of last year, Captain America: The Winter Soldier and Captain America: Civil War star Frank Grillo claimed that – despite his death in Civil War – Marvel still had plans for his character Brock Rumlow, and now we know what those plans are.

“[Crossbones] makes an appearance in the next Avengers movie,” said Grillo in an interview with UFC Unfiltered. “But it’s a flashback. Yeah and I’m allowed to say whatever I want because I’m never doing another Marvel movie.”

Given that Crossbones’ role is likely to be little more than a cameo, similar to that of the Red Skull in Infinity War, it’s unlikely that Grillo got to see much of the script, so it very well may be that this “flashback” is actually one of the heavily rumoured time travel sequences.

How do you think Crossbones could factor in to the plot of Avengers 4? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below…

An unprecedented cinematic journey ten years in the making and spanning the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe, Marvel Studios’ “Avengers: Infinity War” brings to the screen the ultimate, deadliest showdown of all time. The Avengers and their Super Hero allies must be willing to sacrifice all in an attempt to defeat the powerful Thanos before his blitz of devastation and ruin puts an end to the universe.

Avengers: Infinity War stars Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Chris Evans (Captain America), Mark Ruffalo (Hulk), Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther), Tom Holland (Spider-Man), Sebastian Stan (Winter Soldier), Anthony Mackie (Falcon), Paul Bettany (Vision), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Josh Brolin (Thanos), Benedict Cumberbatch (Doctor Strange), Benedict Wong (Wong), ChrisPratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax), Bradley Cooper (Rocket), Sean Gunn (Rocket), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Tom Hiddleston (Loki), Samuel L.
