Star Wars’ Daisy Ridley believes it is a “shame” that Rey, Finn and Poe only came together for one film

December 9, 2019 by Liam Waddington

Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker star Daisy Ridley, who is best known for playing Rey, claims it was a “shame” that the trio of Rey, Finn (John Boyega) and Poe (Oscar Isaac) only acted together for one film.

“The thing we were all really excited to do was to come together in this film and be a team, so I guess in that way, I guess it’s a shame that that’s only happened for one film,” Ridley said during Brazil’s CCXP convention. “But I think where we have developed to in this film is [to the point where] you’ll really feel like part of the gang, and I believe it’s a fitting ending for all of us.”

Ridley appeared at CCXP alongside writer-director J.J. Abrams, who promised a “very emotional” ending to the Sequel Trilogy/Skywalker Saga.

“It’s an incredible thing to see what the people beside me, what these amazing actors have done in this film. It’s a very emotional story, it’s a huge, fun adventure, but it’s also very emotional,” Abrams added. “And it’s the end of this nine-chapter saga, and I just cannot wait for you to see not just what the cast, but the crew has done.”

Unfortunately, Ridley is correct with the trio not coming together as a team until The Rise of Skywalker as Rey met ex-Stormtrooper Finn in The Force Awakens, where Finn formed a bond with the Resistance pilot Poe without Rey, and the group wouldn’t come together until the ending of The Last Jedi.

Do you agree with Daisy Ridley that it is a shame we only get to see the trio work together for one film? Are you looking forward to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker? Let us know in the comments below or tweet us @flickeringmyth…
