September 13, 2017 by admin

STAR WARS DIRECTOR

After the news last week that Colin Trevorrow had left Star Wars: Episode IX over “creative differences”, Disney and Lucasfilm officially announced that Star Wars: The Force Awakens director J.J. Abrams will be stepping in to helm the galaxy far, far away again. I guess Patty Jenkins was busy? “With The Force Awakens, J.J. delivered everything we could have possibly hoped for, and I am so excited that he is coming back to close out this trilogy,” said Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy. Read more here.

EPISODE IX PUSHED BACK

And with that, it should come as no surprise that Star Wars: Episode IX has now been pushed back so new screenwriters Abrams and Chris Terrio can flesh out a new script. Episode IX will now open on December 20th 2019, putting it in competition with Universal’s Wicked and Sony’s Masters of the Universe. BLOODY X-MEN

Director Josh Boone (The Fault in Our Stars) has taken to Instagram to announce that he’s in the final week of production on 20th Century Fox’s X-Men: The New Mutants, and in doing so, he’s also shared a first look at the film’s rather bloody logo. Check it out here.

BALLS TO THE WALL METAL

Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts has spoken to Gamespot about his big screen adaptation of Metal Gear Solid, which might finally be moving forward. “I was able to say, ‘Let’s really think about whether we’re making the truest, most balls-to-the-wall Metal Gear version of this – the most Kojima version of this,” he said. “And even if that means we make it for a little bit less money, let’s make the version of this that’s true to what it is, fully committed to what Kojima’s voice is.” Read more here.

DISASTER ARTIST

The first full trailer for The Disaster Artist landed online yesterday, which you can check out here.
