Star Wars stunt double in induced coma after accident on Resident Evil set

September 10, 2015 by Tom Beasley

A British stunt double who worked on Star Wars: The Force Awakens is fighting for her life in hospital after a freak accident on the set of Resident Evil: The Final Chapter.

Olivia Jackson, 32, crashed into a metal camera arm whilst shooting a high-speed motorbike chase for the upcoming horror sequel at the weekend.

She has been in an induced coma since Saturday as a result of a punctured lung and head injuries, according to the Daily Mirror.

Her husband, David Grant, whom she met on the set of Mad Max: Fury Road, has travelled to South Africa in order to support her.

Jackson has worked as a stunt double for A-list Hollywood stars on several recent blockbusters, including Charlize Theron and Rosie Huntington-Whiteley in Mad Max: Fury Road and Karen Gillan in Guardians of the Galaxy.
