Star Wars merchandise has always played a huge role in the ongoing success of the saga.  Beyond the obvious awesomness of the movies themselves, Star Wars toys have brought joy and endless fun to generation after generation of sci-fi fans. Merchandising became such an important factor for Star Wars that George Lucas notoriously gave up a large portion of his income from the first movie in order to obtain rights for the sequel and merchandise, a move which proved to be a stroke of genius.

Taking into account the mammoth success of the Star Wars phenomenon it was only a matter of time before someone decided to make a documentary on the subject of Star Wars toys. Luckily X-Ray Films have teamed up with Brian Stillman to bring us Plastic Galaxy, an intriguing insight into the wonderful world of Star Wars merchandising.
