Suicide Squad to shoot in Toronto, Jai Courtney, Tom Hardy, Margot Robbie and Jared Leto in final negotiations

December 1, 2014 by Gary Collinson

The Hollywood Reporter has posted an update on Warner Bros.’ first post-Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice offering from the DC Cinematic Universe, revealing that director David Ayer’s (Fury) Suicide Squad movie is set to start pre-production at Pinewood Toronto Studios in February ahead of a shoot from April through to September.

While Jared Leto has sworn to keep his mouth shut over his rumoured casting as The Joker, THR reports that the Oscar-winner is now in final negotiations for the role, along with Margot Robbie (The Wolf of Wall Street), Jai Courtney (Divergent) and Tom Hardy (The Dark Knight Rises). Hardy’s possible role is unknown, but it’s said that Robbie will play Harley Quinn and Courtney will portray Deadshoot. Jesse Eisenberg is also said to be in talks to reprise the role of Lex Luthor from Batman v Superman.

Suicide Squad is set for release on August 5th 2016. You can listen to the Flickering Myth Podcast’s thoughts on the Suicide Squad cast using the player below:
