Superman: Red Son movie, Spider-Man 2 director revealed, Deadpool 2 set photos and more – Daily News Roundup

June 28, 2017 by admin

RED SON

In some surprising news, it was revealed yesterday through a Twitter conversation between comic book writer Mark Millar and Kong: Skull Island helmer Jordan Vogt-Roberts that Warner Bros. were looking for directors to pitch their takes on Superman: Red Son, the series where The Man of Steel landed in the Soviet Union rather than America. Millar spoke with Den of Geek, clarifying his statement later in the day. “I think they’re just going through their back catalogue of big books and hoping to lure in good directors as opposed to any particular interest in developing Red Son,” he said. “There’s always 50 conversations for every comic book movie that gets made and as far as I know this is something that is very much just at conversation stage.” Read more here.

INFINITY WAR SET PHOTO

Another set photo from Avengers: Infinity War landed online yesterday which showed off Iron Man’s new armour. Check it out here.

SPIDEY 2

With Spider-Man: Homecoming just around the corner, it’s been revealed that its director Jon Watts is set to direct the follow-up Spider-Man 2. “He knocked it out of the park,” Marvel Studio’s Kevin Feige told Collider. “We would be crazy [not to]. He did a wonderful job and the whole atmosphere of the movie, all the things that people like about it are the things he brought to it. He’s really special.” Read Watts’ response here.

GREEN WITH ENVY

With a sequel seeming more and more unlikely, it’s a shame to hear that Power Rangers director Dean Israelite has been speaking so passionately about the project. In a new interview with ComicBook, the director revealed why he altered the character of Rita Repulsa to be a former Ranger saying, “We were trying to figure out a mythology for her, and it felt like there was real evidence in the canon because she ultimately ends up giving Tommy [Oliver, the original Green Ranger] the coin. That there was evidence in a way that she could be the Green Ranger.” Read more here.

DEADPOOL 2

Deadpool 2 is currently underway, so as you would expect some set photos have landed online. Check them out here.

WELCOME TO THE JUNGLE
