April 25, 2020 by Andrew Newton

Developer Digital has announced they will be releasing SuperMash on Xbox One, Playstation 4 and Nintendo Switch on the 8th May.  With SuperMash players will be able to enjoy a wide variety of randomly generated games through retro-inspired adventures.  Check out the new trailer below…

SuperMash will have players work through randomly generated scenarios, called Mashes, which are made up of a blend together two different genres, such as Shoot ’em up and platformer.  Players are able to control certain aspects of each Mash by applying Dev Cards which are in-game tools that allow players to add in a selection of characters, enemies, environments and more.  Furthermore, these Mashes can be shared with friends by giving them its unique playable code.

The game features:

  • Mash together 2 of the six unique 2D game genres, including Metrovania, Shoot ‘em Up, Stealth, Platformer, JRPG and Action Adventure.
  • Customise each Mash by using collectable in-game Dev Cards, which allow them to pick and choose specific characters, enemies, worlds and more every time.
  • Run a video game shop filled with retro hybrids of different player-created games.
  • Share favorite combinations with other players the world through unique codes generated for each Mash.

SuperMash will release on consoles on 8th May.
