Survival horror FPS Drop Dead: The Cabin coming to Steam for PC

July 2, 2025 by Andrew Newton

If you love 80s horror vibes, shooting zombies in the face and panicking with your friends in a creepy cabin in the woods, then you’ll want to keep an eye out for the fan-favourite VR survival shooter Drop Dead: The Cabin. As developer Soul Assembly have announced it is coming to Steam later this year as a fully standalone PC release.

Originally haunting Meta Quest headsets, Drop Dead: The Cabin is now making the jump to flat-screen gameplay, complete with revamped visuals, sharper textures and all the eerie lighting and synth sound design you’d expect from a love letter to classic 80s horror films.

The PC version brings expanded 4-player co-op, so you and your friends can team up to hold off relentless undead hordes, all while desperately managing resources such as weapons and ammo, and trying to keep the power on long enough to survive the night. Dynamic roguelike elements keep each run fresh and challenging, and full crossplay support means PC players can jump into the action with their VR pals for a unified multiplayer experience.

Soul Assembly CEO David Solari said, “We’re excited to bring this experience to a broader audience, enhancing the game for PC players while maintaining the core elements that made it a hit in VR.”

Releasing towards the end of the year, Drop Dead: The Cabin is available to wishlist on Steam right now and will be available to play during October NEXT Fest.
