Survival horror SCP: Fragmented Minds Chapter 1 escapes onto Steam Early Access

January 28, 2025 by Andrew Newton

HST Game Studios and independent publishing platform indie.io have announced the arrival of Chapter 1 of their survival horror, SCP: Fragmented Minds, onto Early Access on Steam.  This first chapter introduces players to the deadly anomalies and fractured realities on the secure facility on Mars.  Watch the new trailer below….

Set in the aftermath of a devastating near-extinctions level event on Earth, SCP: Fragmented Minds takes players to the top-secret facility of Mars Site 113, a Mars-based secure location used to house some of the most dangerous anomalies.  When chaos descends upon this facility, a Foundation response team is sent to regain control, but it’s not long before the mission spirals out of control.

As a member of this response team, players will explore the facility, discover record logs, environmental clues and survivor stories and find out the horrifying consequences of the experiments carried out there.

With each anomaly encountered, players will have a choice of what approach to take, these include: sneaking through the shadows and laying traps or taking on the anomalies head-on in strategic combat.  Players have access to an assortment of tools, such as the PDA and multipurpose welder that will help them set traps and hack into systems.  There are also dialogue choices that players can make with NPCs and puzzles to solve.

This first chapter will introduce players to several SCP anomalies, including three deadly variants of SCP-3199.  Avoid the acid-spitting Scouts and the crushing charges of Elders as players explore the flesh-covered nests and bloodstained hallways.  Three more chapters are planned that expand the story with more anomalies and gameplay mechanics.

SCP: Fragmented Minds Chapter 1 is available now on Steam Early Access.
