Swiss survival drama retreat gets a trailer and images

October 31, 2022 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its world premiere this November, a trailer and poster have arrived online for Swiss filmmaker Leon Schwitter’s upcoming drama Retreat.

The film follows Benny (Dorian Heiniger), a young boy as his vacation with his estranged father Michael (Peter Hottinger) in the mountains has slowly turned into an abduction as he tries to shelter his son from the outside world, turning his back on civilisation. Check out the trailer below…

On a holiday in the mountains, an estranged father and son get to know each other better. Sheltered by the rocky landscape, Michael believes that he and his son are safe from the outside world, which is crumbling under the impact of environmental destruction and economic crises.

Retreat will premiere on November 4th at Argentina’s Mar del Plata Film Festival and Greece’s  Thessaloniki Festival.
