Created by Karl Schaefer and Craig Engler and produced by low-budget specialists The Asylum, Z Nation premiered in 2014 and takes place three years into a zombie apocalypse. It follows a group who are looking to transport the only known survivor of a zombie bite across the United States to the last remaining CDC laboratory in the hopes of developing a cure.

While Z Nation is drawing to a close, fans do have the prequel series Black Summer to look forward to on Netflix, which Latt describes as “just the beginning of a lot of things.”
