Taika Waititi is Adolf Hitler in first image from Jojo Rabbit

June 11, 2018 by Gary Collinson

After kicking off production last week, 20th Century Fox has now released the very first image from What We Do In the Shadows, Hunt for the Wilderpeople and Thor: Ragnarok director Taika Waititi’s next film Jojo Rabbit, which sees young German boy Jojo (Roman Griffin Davis) having dinner with his mother Rosie (Scarlett Johansson) and his imaginary friend Adolf Hitler (Waititi).

In JOJO RABBIT, writer director Taika Waititi, brings his signature style of humor and pathos to a World War II satire.  The story follows an awkward young German boy (Roman Griffin) raised by a single mother (Scarlett Johansson), and whose only ally is his imaginary friend Hitler (Waititi).  His naïve patriotism is tested when he meets a young girl (Thomasin McKenzie) who upends his world views, forcing him to face his biggest fears.

Also featuring in the cast of Jojo Rabbit are Sam Rockwell (Three Billboards Outside Ebbing, Missouri), Rebel Wilson (Pitch Perfect), Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie (The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies).
