Taika Waititi would “f*cking love” to direct a Star Wars movie – if it felt right

February 12, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Taika Waititi has revealed that he would “fucking love” to direct a Star Wars movie as long as it was right.

Report have surfaced in recent months that Thor: Ragnarok and The Mandalorian director Taika Waititi has been in talks to direct a Star Wars movie. However, the man himself has denied it.

He recently said he hadn’t been approached and now he has told Variety that while he would love to do it, it would have to feel like the right movie – an attitude he takes with every project he comes across:

“I think people see me hanging out with people, especially with Star Wars, and think I’m having some big discussions about it. I would fucking love to… If it was right. I would want to do any kind of movie if it made sense, and if it felt not like career suicide.”

So, while Waititi seems keen, it doesn’t sound like an announcement is imminent. Would you like to see it happen? Let us know in the comments below and on social media @flickeringmyth…
