It looks like New Line Cinema is keeping it in the family with regards to its Conjuring 2 spinoff The Nun, with Deadline revealing that Taissa Farmiga – younger sister of The Conjuring’s Vera Farmiga – has been cast in the lead role.
Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is directing the film, which will see Farmiga joined in the cast by Demian Bichir (A Better Life), who is set to play a priest named Father Burke dispatched by Rome to investigate the death of a nun.
The Nun is slated for release on July 13th 2018, while the Conjuring franchise also has the Annabelle sequel Annabelle: Creation openingon August 11th of this year [watch the first trailer here].
