Tatiana Maslany isn’t expecting a second season of Marvel’s She-Hulk

January 20, 2024 by Gary Collinson

Despite Tatiana Maslany’s Jennifer Walters expressing her desire to pitch some season 2 ideas to K.E.V.I.N. in the fourth-wall breaking finale of She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, it seems the powers that be aren’t so optimistic, with the actress revealing this past week that she isn’t expecting another outing for the Disney+ series.

“I don’t think so,” said Maslany when asked about the prospect of a She-Hulk season 2 during a guest appearance on Twitch’s Codenames LIVE! – The New Class. “I think we blew our budget, and Disney was like, ‘No thanks.'”

According to reports, She-Hulk: Attorney at Law had a budget of $225 million, which puts it above 2012’s Avengers ($220 million) and on par with another of Marvel’s Disney+ shows Secret Invasion, which tanked hard with fans and critics alike. Disney and Marvel’s reluctance for a second season of She-Hulk certainly isn’t surprising then, especially given the visual effects required for the show (the cost of which presumably soared after Marvel sought to improve the early visuals of the trailer following initial criticism of the She-Hulk model in particular).

For now, it remains to be seen where (and even if) we’ll next see Maslany’s She-Hulk; K.E.V.I.N. promised it would be on the big screen, but with major rewrites underway to the Multiverse saga following the firing of Kang actor Jonathan Majors, we shall have to see how things play out.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law follows Jennifer Walters as she navigates the complicated life of a single, 30-something attorney who also happens to be a green 6-foot-7-inch superpowered hulk.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law stars Tatiana Maslany as Jennifer Walters/She-Hulk, Mark Ruffalo as Bruce Banner/The Hulk, Tim Roth as Emil Blonsky/Abomination, Benedict Wong as Wong, Charlie Cox as Matt Murdock/Daredevil, Jameela Jamil as Titania, Ginger Gonzaga as Nikki Ramos, Josh Segarra as Pug Pugliese, Jon Bass as Todd Phelps/HulkKing, Renée Elise Goldsberry as Mallory Book, Mark Linn-Baker as Morris Walters and Tess Malis Kincaid as Elaine Walters.

She-Hulk: Attorney at Law is streaming now on Disney+.
