Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem already has a sequel and TV series in the works

Paramount Pictures and Nickelodeon Movies’ Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem hasn’t even emerged from the sewers yet, but according to reports a sequel and TV series are already in the works.

With the 2D animated reboot hitting cinemas next week, The Hollywood Reporter has revealed that a follow-up from director Jeff Rowe and Point Grey Pictures is in development, while a two-season series called Tales of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles is being prepped for Paramount+. 

Ramsey Naito, the president of Paramount Animation and Nickelodeon Animation said “Reinvigorating this franchise has been years in the making, and we are thrilled to continue expanding the beloved Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles universe and bring new adventures to families and fans.”

Micah Abbey, Shamon Brown Jr., Nicolas Cantu, and Brady Noon, who voice the heroes in a half-shell in Mutant Mayhem, are set to reprise their roles for the sequel and TV series. 

Joining them in this latest TMNT reboot are Jackie Chan (Rush Hour) as Splinter, Ayo Edebiri (The Bear) as April O’Neil, Producer Seth Rogen (The Fablemans) as Bebop, John Cena (Peacemaker) as Rocksteady, Giancarlo Esposito (The Mandalorian) as Baxter Stockman, Hannibal Buress (Broad City) as Genghis Frog, Rose Byrne (Physical) as Leatherhead, Natasia Demetriou (What We Do in the Shadows) as Wingnut, Post Malone as Ray Fillet, Paul Rudd (Ant-Man and The Wasp: Quantumania) as Mondo Gecko and Maya Rudolph (Disenchanted) as Cynthia Utrom.

After years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a notorious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem crawls from the sewer and onto the big-screen on August 2nd.
