The Batman’s Peter Sarsgaard reveals what it’s like to work with Matt Reeves

October 9, 2020 by Samuel Brace

Peter Sarsgaard, one of the stars of The Batman, has revealed what its like to work with director Matt Reeves.

Ever since the first trailer for Matt Reeves’ The Batman debuted, buzz for the film has taken off. While it has recently been delayed until 2022, the film itself looks pretty special.

Peter Sarsgaard, who plays D.A. Gil Colson in the film, is having a great time making it and has revealed what it’s like to work with Matt Reeves while praising the director. Speaking to Collider, he said:

“He is the most detailed oriented director I’ve ever encountered. I mean, he is like, the level of focus, I mean, you would have to have to direct the kind of movies that he has directed, but it’s unbelievable. That’s like a very specific type of mind and it’s really fun working with him. He’s very collaborative, but he also, he totally knows what he wants. You know, I would say like, what about something like this? And he would think about it. Well, no, because of the thing and you know, he’s like really, he’s got it in his mind in such a detailed way that it’s almost like savant sort of situation.”

Hopefully, these qualities in Reeves will make for an excellent Batman movie when it finally comes out. It’s certainly looking pretty promising at this stage, although we now face a rather lengthy wait to find out.

The Batman sees Robert Pattinson (The Lighthouse) donning the cape and cowl as Bruce Wayne/Batman alongside Zoe Kravitz (Big Little Lies) as Selina Kyle/Catwoman, Colin Farrell (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them) as Oswald Cobblepot/The Penguin, Paul Dano (Escape at Dannemora) as The Riddler, Jeffrey Wright (Westworld) as Jim Gordon, Andy Serkis (War for the Planet of the Apes) as Alfred Pennyworth, John Turturro (The Big Lebowski) as Carmine Falcone, Alex Ferns (Chernobyl) as Commissioner Pete Savage, Con O’Neill (Ordinary Lies) as Chief Mackenzie Bock, Peter Sarsgaard (The Killing) as Gotham D.A. Gil Colson, Barry Keoghan (Dunkirk) as Officer Stanley Merkel and Jayme Lawson (Farewell Amor) as Bella Real.
