The Crown leads the winners of the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards

Netflix’s The Crown led the winners of the 73rd Primetime Emmy Awards last night with seven awards, includinga clean sweep of the acting gongs for Drama with Olivia Colman (Lead Actress), Josh O’Connor (Lead Actor), Gillian Anderson (Supporting Actress) and Tobias Menzies (Prince Philip), and – for the first time in its four seasons – Outstanding Drama Series.

On the Comedy side, Apple TV+’s Ted Lasso won Outstanding Comedy Series, Jason Sudeikis (Lead Actor), Hannah Waddingham (Supporting Actress) and Brett Goldstein (Supporting Actor), while other multiple winners included Mare of Easttown (3 wins), Hacks (3 wins), The Queen’s Gambit (2 wins) and Last Week Tonight with John Oliver (2 wins).
