The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow suffer premiere ratings lows with new seasons

October 13, 2017 by Gary Collinson

The CW’s superhero shows Supergirl, The Flash, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow and Arrow all launched their latest seasons this week – although in terms of ratings, it’s hard to describe these as a triumphant return for the DC heroes.

We’ve already reported that Supergirl’s season three premiere was down a whopping 50% on its season two premiere, with the show scoring a 0.5 rating in the key 18-49 demo, and 1.9 million viewers in total.

While The Flash didn’t quite suffer the same fate as Supergirl, its season four premiere episode marked a premiere low for the Scarlet Speedster with a 1.1 rating and 2.8 million viewers. Nevertheless, this is on par with the season three average, and only slightly down on the season three finale of a 1.1 and 3 million viewers.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow also scored a series premiere low with 1.7 million viewers and a 0.6 rating, although this is slightly up on its season two average, while Arrow didn’t get off to the best of starts in its new Thursday night slot with its own premiere low of a 0.7 rating and 1.9 million viewers.
