Developer METROPOLICE Studio will be releasing their underworld city-builder The HELL: City Builder of the Dead into Steam Early Access on 24th October. Revealed during the Shacknews E4 Indie Showcase, this upcoming title will have players take command of Hell as it’s governor. Watch the new trailer below…
There’s probably all manner of bureaucracy in Hell and in The HELL: City Builder of the Dead players are thrust into the middle of it and made Governor of the underworld. Players are tasked with making their way through a variety of different scenarios that feed off the different traditions of the afterlife.
As the Governor, players will employ unfortunate souls in harvesting and refinement structures to gain resources suitable for purgatorial punishing and manage the sinners that arrive. Players will need to maintain a balance or face a situation where sinners become sadists who aim to tear down the underworld.
Souls will arrive from some of the most catastrophic events in history, from the devastating eruption of Krakatoa to the extreme cold experienced by Northern Scandinavia. In total, there are seven immersive missions that you will progress through. Each mission will have unique settings and a formidable Titan that will watch over that hell.
There is also the threat that dark forces and unpredictable chaos can bring the player’s domain crashing down. To combat this, players will need to transform some of their sinners into specialised defenders.
Look out for The HELL: City Builder of the Dead arriving on Steam Early Access this October.
