I was lucky enough to win a screening of The LEGO Batman Movie ahead of the theatrical release (through a partnership of IMAX and Collider.com) and watched it at the IMAX headquarters in Playa Vista, California on Monday night. Seeing the movie in IMAX was incredible. I thoroughly enjoyed watching this on the giant screen with rumbling sound. It’s a gloriously loving roast of all things Batman and is well worth watching, with plenty for both adults and children to love.

They took a range of questions from moderator Steven Weintraub (Editor-In-Chief for Collider.com) as well as audience questions. The entire session was live-streamed on their Facebook page. I asked McKay if there were any bits or gags that he tried to get into the film but was overruled on and he told a story about showing the film to a test audience early on and having some of the dialogue hit a little too close to home for one of the audience members.

In the irreverent spirit of fun that made “The LEGO® Movie” a worldwide phenomenon, the self-described leading man of that ensemble – LEGO Batman – stars in his own big-screen adventure. But there are big changes brewing in Gotham, and if he wants to save the city from The Joker’s hostile takeover, Batman may have to drop the lone vigilante thing, try to work with others and maybe, just maybe, learn to lighten up.
The LEGO Batman Movie is set for release on February 10th and sees Will Arnett joined in the voice cast by Michael Cera as Robin, Rosario Dawson as Batgirl, Zach Galifianakis as The Joker, Ralph Fiennes as Alfred, Billy Dee Williams as Harvey Dent/Two-Face, Jenny Slate as Harley Quinn, Hector Elizondo as Commissioner Gordon, Conan O’Brien as The Riddler, Jason Mantzoukas as The Scarecrow, Doug Benson as Bane, Kate Micucci as Clayface, Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman, Riki Lindhome as Poison Ivy, Channing Tatum as Superman, Jonah Hill as Green Lantern, Adam DeVine as The Flash and Mariah Carey as Mayor McCaskill.
