The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep adds Bruce Greenwood and Emily Alyn Lind

September 22, 2018 by Gary Collinson

Deadline is reporting that Bruce Greenwood (Gerald’s Game) and Emily Alyn Lind (Revenge) have become the latest additions to the cast of Warner Bros.’ The Shining sequel Doctor Sleep.

The Stephen King adaptation is being directed by Mike Flanagan (Gerald’s Game) and sees Ewan McGregor (Christopher Robin) starring as the now adult Danny Torrance, who is looking to put his past behind him as he works in a hospice, using his shining abilities to heal the sick. He meets a young girl with the same gift, Abra (Kyliegh Curran), who is being targeted by a psychic cult called the True Knot which feeds on the “steam” created by children with the shining.

Lind is set to portray the character of Snakebyte Andi, a member of the True Knot who possesses the ability to make people fall asleep through suggestion, while Greenwood will play Dr. John.

Doctor Sleep is set for release on January 24th 2020, and also features a cast that includes Rebecca Ferguson (Mission: Impossible – Fallout), Alex Essoe (Starry Eyes), Carl Lumbly (Supergirl) and Zahn McClarnon (Westworld).
