The walls of ancient Egyptian tombs have something to say in Assassin’s Creed Origins: Tales from the Tomb

October 7, 2017 by Emma Withington

Ever wondered what those people adorning the walls of ancient Egyptian tombs were thinking? Well, wonder no more! Tales from the Tomb presents a series of ten sketches interspersed with heart-pounding footage from Assassin’s Creed Origins, to illustrate each skit. Hear from tomb-wall citizens, priests, Gods, and pharaohs as they discuss topics from the genius behind pyramid construction – nice one Brian – to a gladiator who tested positive for mummy dust…”What death do, hasn’t involved a little zoom from the tomb, a few pharaoh moans?”

Ubisoft’s self-aware humour extends to their own game mechanics: “Did you see that assassin shoot five arrows from his bow like it was a shotgun?” – crazy right?! It seems a ‘human assassin’ is having quite the affect on the future of ancient Egypt and its Gods – Anubis and Horus are pretty concerned, meanwhile Osiris is a couple of reeds short of a papyrus.
