The Weinstein Company planning Sin City and The Mist TV series

November 30, 2013 by admin

We know that Robert Rodriguez is bringing one of his previous films to the small screen, with a TV adaptation of From Dusk Till Dawn currently filming, and now it’s being reported by The New York Times (via ComicBookMovie) that The Weinstein Company is looking to branch out into the TV business and could be planning a Sin City series to follow the theatrical release of Sin City: A Dame to Kill For next year.

Apparently, Sin City is one of several movies that Bob Weinstein is looking to adapt for TV, with Rodriguez is said to be involved alongside with comic book creator and co-director Frank Miller. Meanwhile, in addition to the previously announced Scream pilot for MTV, Weinstein is also said to be working with director Frank Darabont on a 10-part series based upon Darabont’s 2007 feature adaptation of the Stephen King tale The Mist.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For is set for release on August 22nd 2014, with a cast that includes returning stars Bruce Willis (A Good Day to Die Hard), Mickey Rourke (The Wrestler), Jessica Alba (Machete), Rosario Dawson (Trance), Jaime King (My Bloody Valentine) and Michael Madsen (Reservoir Dogs) and Basin City newcomers Josh Brolin (Men in Black 3), Joseph Gordon-Levitt (The Dark Knight Rises), Eva Green (Dark Shadows) Dennis Haysbert (24), Juno Temple (Killer Joe), Ray Liotta (Goodfellas), Jamie Chung (The Man with the Iron Fists), Alexa Vega (Machete Kills), Christopher Meloni (Man of Steel), Jeremy Piven (Entourage) and Lady Gaga (Machete Kills).
