Thor: Love And Thunder’s story is “insane” and “the best script he’s read in years,” says Chris Hemsworth

April 24, 2020 by EJ Moreno

The fourth film in the Thor franchise titled Thor: Love and Thunder is shaping up to be one of the most explosive Marvel Studios films to date. Recently, the film’s director Taika Waititi said that Love and Thunder would make Ragnarok look “safe,” and now Thor himself is weighing in on the project.

When talking to The Philadelphia Inquirer about his new Netflix film Extraction [read our review here], Hemsworth revealed he’s already read the script for the film, which was written by Waititi. The actor went on to call it “one of the best scripts I’ve read in year… It’s Taika at his most extreme, and at his best. If the version I read is the one we get running with, it’s going to be pretty insane.”

Already one of the most anticipated movies of Phase Four, Marvel Studios is seemingly letting the filmmaker run wild with Thor: Love and Thunder. No surprise as many felt Waititi changed the course of the character and his franchise with 2017’s Thor: Ragnarok, going for a more campy Flash Gordon route than previous entires. The film would go on to gross over $800 million.

Thor: Love and Thunder sees Taika Waititi returning to the director’s chair and Chris Hemsworth (Thor), Natalie Portman (Jane Foster), Tessa Thompson (Valkyrie) and Waititi (Korg) all reprising their MCU roles and Christian Bale (Ford v Ferrari) starring as the main villain. It is set for release on February 18th, 2022.
