The director of upcoming Marvel sequel Thor: Ragnarok, Taika Waititi, has weighed in on any fan concerns regarding the film’s recently revealed comedic tone.
You can never please everyone, and those that try and are destined to fail. It seems director of the latest Thor movie Taika Waititi understands this when responding on Twitter to the concerns of a fan, who brought up their reservations over the supposedly heavy comedic tone of Thor’s third solo outing.
Waititi responded by saying “Sounds like some people need to laugh”, and didn’t seem to be in the mood to offer reassurances of any kind. Take a look at the exchange here…

To be fair, without seeing the film, one can’t possibly comment on the movie’s tone or level any meaningful criticism at it. Perhaps comedy is just what this Thor film needs, and with Waititi being known for his film’s comedic elements, it should come as a surprise to no one that Ragnarok looks to be going down such a route.

In Marvel Studios’ “Thor: Ragnarok,” Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok—the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization—at the hands of an all-powerful threat, the ruthless Hela. But first he must survive a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger—the Incredible Hulk.
Thor: Ragnarok is being directed by Taika Waititi (What We Do in the Shadows) and features Marvel veterans Chris Hemsworth as Thor, Tom Hiddleston as Loki, Anthony Hopkins as Odin, Idris Elba as Heimdall and Mark Ruffalo as the Hulk alongside Cate Blanchett as Hela, Tessa Thompson as Valkyrie, Jeff Goldblum as the Grandmaster, Karl Urban as Skurge and Sam Neill in an as-yet-unrevealed role. It is set for release on November 3rd, 2017.
