Tom Ellis joins Tell Me Lies season 2

January 24, 2024 by Ricky Church

Lucifer‘s Tom Ellis has joined the second season of Hulu’s drama Tell Me Lies.

The news comes from Deadline that he will star alongside series leads Grace Van Patten (Nine Perfect Strangers) and Jackson White (Mrs. Fletcher), whose relationship is charted over 8 years and embroils their friends in a series of lies that affects all of their lives. Ellis will star in a series regular role throughout the season.

Ellis will play Oliver, “a professor at Baird College whose tough love attitude makes him an intimidating presence that isn’t appreciated by all students. He is married to Lucy’s (Van Patten) professor Marianne (Gabriella Pession), but as one of the main characters begins seeking his approval, his influence will have chaotic repercussions.”

Tell Me Lies follows “a tumultuous but intoxicating relationship as it unfolds over the course of 8 years and sweeps everyone around it into its dangerous wake. A group of college friends has no idea that one addictive entanglement among them has the power to pull them all into a web of betrayal, sex, and lies that will permanently alter each of their paths forever.”

The series was created by Meghan Oppenheimer and executive produced by her and Emma Roberts. It is based on the novel of the same name by Carola Lovering.

Ellis led Lucifer, which concluded its six season run on Netflix last year. He’ll be seen next in the Netflix Valentine’s rom com Players alongside Gina Rodriguez and will also star in Oppenheimer and Roberts’ next series Second Wife.
