February 14, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Sony Pictures Classics has shared a trailer for director Daniel Minahan’s upcoming drama On Swift Horses.

Based on Shannon Pufahl’s novel of the same name, the film sees married couple Muriel and Lee set out to start a new life in California until their plans are upended when Lee’s wayward younger brother Julius arrives, quickly forming a dangerous love triangle as Muriel explores a secret life and a love she never thought possible.

The cast includes Daisy Edgar-Jones, Jacob Elordi, Will Poulter, Diego Calva, and Sasha Calle. Watch the trailer below…

Muriel and her husband Lee are beginning a bright new life in California when he returns from the Korean War. But their newfound stability is upended by the arrival of Lee’s charismatic brother, Julius, a wayward gambler with a secret past. A dangerous love triangle quickly forms. When Julius takes off in search of the young card cheat he’s fallen for, Muriel’s longing for something more propels her into a secret life of her own, gambling on racehorses and exploring a love she never dreamed possible.

On Swift Horses arrives in cinemas on April 25th.
