Trailer for supernatural mystery-thriller The Ruse

April 2, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Mena Films has released a poster and trailer for writer-director Stevan Mena’s supernatural mystery-thriller The Ruse.

The film follows Dale, an in-home caregiver who is sent to take care of an elderly patient at a seaside home after the previous carer mysteriously vanished, but after a series of terrifying occurrences Dale begins to fear for both her own life and her patients.

The cast includes Veronica Cartwright, Michael Steger, and Madelyn Dundon. Watch the trailer below…

When the in-home caregiver assigned to an elderly patient mysteriously vanishes, Dale (Madelyn Dundon) is quickly sent as the replacement nurse. She rushes to the remote seaside home, only to find herself in the middle of chaos—forced to deal with an unruly patient, mysterious neighbors, and terrifying supernatural occurrences that seem to plague the home. Is the house haunted? Or is something even more malevolent to blame? As the walls close in, unsure whom she can trust, Dale fears for her life and that of her patient.

The Ruse arrives in cinemas on May 16th.
