Trailer for The Housemaid starring Sydney Sweeney and Amanda Seyfried

September 16, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Lionsgate has debuted the first trailer for The Housemaid, the upcoming adaptation of Freida McFadden’s bestselling novel of the same name from director Paul Feig (A Simple Favor).

The thriller stars Sydney Sweeney as a woman attempting to escape her past, but find herself pulled into a seductive game of secrets and scandal after accepting a job as a live-in maid for an affluent couple.

Joining Sweeney in the cast are Amanda Seyfried, Brandon Sklenar, Michele Morrone, and Elizabeth Perkins. Check out the trailer below…

From director Paul Feig, the film plunges audiences into a twisted world where perfection is an illusion, and nothing is as it seems. Trying to escape her past, Millie (Sydney Sweeney) accepts a job as a live-in housemaid for the wealthy Nina (Amanda Seyfried) and Andrew Winchester (Brandon Sklenar). But what begins as a dream job quickly unravels into something far more dangerous — a sexy, seductive game of secrets, scandal, and power. Behind the Winchesters’ closed doors lies a world of shocking twists that will leave you guessing until the very end.

The Housemaid arrives in cinemas on December 19th.
