Try farming on the Mega Drive/Genesis with Farming Simulator 16-Bit Edition

April 11, 2025 by Andrew Newton

Strictly Limited Games and Giants Software have revealed that the hit farming game, Farming Simulator, will be launching in a special limited 16-bit edition for the Sega Mega Drive (or Genesis to our American cousins).  Farming Simulator 16-Bit Edition will be available as a Limited Edition on 14th May and as a Deluxe Edition in July.  Watch the new trailer below to see how great this looks.

Back in November ’24, GIANTS Software released the Farming Simulator 25 Collector’s Edition on PC and consoles, which included a retro cartridge-style version.  This received huge praise from retro gamers, fans and collectors, and possibly even got a smile from the bosses at SEGA as they remembered the good times.  This feedback was so overwhelming that it prompted this 16-bit release on the beloved console.

For the fans and collectors, there are Limited and Deluxe Editions.  Both of these editions will be available exclusively through the Strictly Limited Store and come with an exclusive and beautiful green cartridge.  These editions are limited to only 1,000 units worldwide, so be sure to visit the store now and order your copy.  The Limited Edition will retail for £49.99/€49.99, while the Deluxe Edition, complete with additional content, will cost £62.46/€69.99.

For those who aren’t successful in getting hold of one of these limited editions, there will be a separate edition featuring a black cartridge (as opposed to the green from the Strictly Limited store exclusives) available from select retail partners such as Amazon for the global market and VideoGamesPlus in North America.

Both editions are fully compatible with SEGA Mega Drive/Genesis-like retro hardware and reflect Strictly Limited’s ongoing commitment to preserving and celebrating gaming culture by bringing high-quality physical releases.

Farming Simulator 16-Bit Edition Limited Edition is set to arrive on 14th May and the Deluxe Edition arrives this July.  Visit the Strictly Limited Store now and pre-order your copy.
