Two new names rumoured for Star Wars: Episode VII

August 28, 2013 by admin

With Disney and J.J. Abrams opting to remain firmly tight lipped about their plans for the first instalment of the upcoming Star Wars sequel trilogy, the phrase “Star Wars news” is starting to become synonymous with “pinch of salt” and now we have another rumour for you, with Latino Review throwing up two new names as potential additions to the cast of Star Wars: Episode VII.

Now, it’s difficult to keep track of all the Star Wars “scoops” Latino Review has dropped lately (Jonathan Rhys Meyers, Leonardo DiCaprio, Ryan Gosling and Zac Efron being up for roles, Ian McDiarmid and Ewan McGregor returning as Force ghosts, etc), all of which are yet to be confirmed or denied. So take from that what you will, but apparently Rachel Hurd-Wood (Peter Pan, Solomon Kane) has auditioned for the role of Princess Leia’s daughter, while Alex Pettyfer (I Am Number Four, Lee Daniels’ The Butler) will be going in to read, possibly for Luke Skywalker’s son. As a disclaimer, the report then goes on to state that neither are said to be front runners, so don’t be surprised if Lucasfilm casts someone else.

Beyond these rumours, it’s also said that Disney and Lucasfilm are about to make an official casting announcement. I really hope that’s true, so we can finally put all this casting speculation to rest and start speculating on the plot instead.
