Uma Thurman to return in Dexter: Resurrection season 2

April 8, 2026 by Ricky Church

The second season of Dexter: Resurrection will see the return of another familiar face as Uma Thurman is set to reprise her role as Charley in the series.

Charley was the head of security and bodyguard for season one’s big bad, Leon Prater played by Peter Dinklage. She helped organize Prater’s serial killer get-togethers and enforce his rules on them, but made no secret her disgust toward the killers he assembled. Though she and Dexter were enemies, once Dexter revealed Prater’s betrayal to her she abandoned him and was last seen taking her sick mother out of New York.

Thurman joins Michael C. Hall as Dexter alongside the recently cast Brian Cox who will play Don Frampt/The New York Ripper, an infamous serial killer who was never identified and has since retired, though he still enjoys taunting his victims and their families. His series of murders was a personal one for NYPD detective Claudette Wallace as the one case she could not solve.

Dexter: Resurrection was created by Clyde Phillips and featured Michael C. Hall reprising his iconic role as Dexter Morgan with Jack Alcott as Harrison Morgan, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva, Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera, with James Remar as Dexter’s father, Harry Morgan. The first season also featured David Zayas as Angel Batista on a mission to track down and apprehend Dexter after confirming he was the Bay Harbor Butcher all along.

Dexter: Resurrection takes place weeks after Dexter Morgan (Michael C. Hall) takes a bullet to the chest from his own son, as he awakens from a coma to find Harrison (Jack Alcott) gone without a trace. Realizing the weight of what he put his son through, Dexter sets out for New York City, determined to find him and make things right. But closure won’t come easily. When Miami Metro’s Angel Batista (David Zayas) arrives with questions, Dexter realizes his past is catching up to him fast. As father and son navigate their darkness in the city that never sleeps, they soon find themselves deeper than they ever imagined—and that the only way out is together.
