Until Dawn featurette explores the practical effects of the horror video game adaptation

April 24, 2025 by Amie Cranswick

Ahead of its theatrical release this Friday, Sony Pictures has shared a new featurette for the upcoming video game adaptation Until Dawn which takes us behind the scenes of the horror movie and sees director David F. Sandberg and writer Gary Dauberman discuss creating its practical effects; check it out below…

“One year after her sister Melanie mysteriously disappeared, Clover and her friends head into the remote valley where she vanished in search of answers. Exploring an abandoned visitor center, they find themselves stalked by a masked killer and horrifically murdered one by one…only to wake up and find themselves back at the beginning of the same evening. Trapped in the valley, they’re forced to relive the nightmare again and again – only each time the killer threat is different, each more terrifying than the last. Hope dwindling, the group soon realizes they have a limited number of deaths left, and the only way to escape is to survive until dawn.”

The cast includes Ella Rubin as Clover, Michael Cimino as Max, Ji-young Yoo as Megan, Odessa A’zion as Nina, Maia Mitchell as Melanie, Belmont Cameli as Abel, and Peter Stormare reprising his role as Dr. Alan J. Hill from the video game.

Until Dawn arrives in cinemas on April 25th.
