Update 31 for Conan Exiles brings thrall inventories and buildings segments

November 16, 2017 by Andrew Newton

Funcom have announced that Update 31 is now available for Conan Exiles on PC.  This latest update introduces inventories for thralls allowing you to equip them with gear and clothing, workbenches and lots of new building pieces to create even more impressive structures.  Funcom have released a trailer to accompany this update, which you can watch below…

Any player of Conan Exiles worth their salt will have thralls and up until now these thralls have remained exactly as the day you captured them.  Now, thanks to update 31, once you capture a fighter or archer and break their will on the wheel of pain they cast off their previous armour allowing you to kit them out in armour which you craft yourself.    The thralls will still keep the weapons they were captured with and you can equip them with weapons of your choosing, however, given their skills it is probably best to give ranged weapons to archers and melee weapons to fighters.  Dancer thralls can also be dressed in armour or normal clothing but if you play on a server that allows nudity there’s even the option for that as well.

Plenty of new building pieces arrive with this update with several new slanted roofs to fit on square buildings, and which can also be used to build pyramids like the picture above.  There are also new stairs without railings and stair corner pieces, new narrow pieces of slanted roofs for hallways and slanted roof intersections.  If this isn’t enough then there are a good variety of new placeable items like wooden totems from the north, stygian braziers and beds and a new table.  The new artisan’s workbench is particularly useful as it gathers all the recipes in one place rather than clogging up your crafting recipe list.  Assigning an artisan thrall in the workbench will provide a crafting bonus.

The repair changes made in the previous update meant that players had to know the recipe of the item they wanted to repair but now, thanks to the new repair kits this is no longer a problem.  There are now four repair kits for armor and four for weapons and will repair equipment to a maximum of 20%, 40%, 60% or 80% of durability depending on their tier.  These kits are very useful when attacking enemy camps.

Full details of this latest update can be found here.
