Video Review – Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 Goes For Classic Disney Emotional Manipulation

May 2, 2023 by EJ Moreno

EJ Moreno with a video review of James Gunn’s third and final Guardians of the Galaxy…

Cue the Sarah McLachlan music because James Gunn is trying hard to make you feel things. Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is an improvement over recent MCU outings, but not by very much.

The third Guardians of the Galaxy movie find itself torn between tones, torn between the old & new Marvel, and feels stuck in stories from years ago. Join critic EJ Moreno for a look at why the movie works in specific ways but hits the painful level of ‘meh.”

Check out the review below, and be sure to follow us on YouTube for more reviews, exclusive interviews, and other video content…

“In Marvel Studios’ Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 our beloved band of misfits are settling into life on Knowhere. But it isn’t long before their lives are upended by the echoes of Rocket’s turbulent past. Peter Quill, still reeling from the loss of Gamora, must rally his team around him on a dangerous mission to save Rocket’s life – a mission that, if not completed successfully, could quite possibly lead to the end of the Guardians as we know them.”

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 brings the galactic gang back together one last time and sees the return of Chris Pratt (Star-Lord), Zoe Saldana (Gamora), Dave Bautista (Drax the Destroyer), Bradley Cooper (Rocket Raccoon), Vin Diesel (Groot), Karen Gillan (Nebula), Pom Klementieff (Mantis), Sean Gunn (Kraglin), Sylvester Stallone (Stakar Ogord), Elizabeth Debecki (Ayesha), Michael Rosenbaum (Martinex), Will Poulter (Adam Warlock), Chukwudi Iwuji (The High Evolutionary), Maria Bakalova (Cosmo the Spacedog), Linda Cardellini (Lylla), Asim Chaudhry (Teefs the Walrus), Mikaela Hoover (Floor the Rabbit) and Daniela Melchior (The Suicide Squad) and Nico Santos (Crazy Rich Asians) in as-yet-unrevealed roles.

Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is set for release on May 5th, 2022.
