Ving Rhames joins ensemble comedy Bastards

August 19, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Deadline is reporting that Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation star Ving Rhames is set to join the ever-expanding cast of new film Bastards.

The comedy, which will see cinematographer Lawrence Sher (Garden State) make his directorial debut, has already secured the talents of Ed Helms (Vacation), Owen Wilson (Zoolander 2) and J.K. Simmons (Whiplash).

The site says that the film is about “two brothers whose eccentric mother has fabricated the story that their father had died when they were young. When they find out the story is false, they make it their mission to find their real father.”

Rhames is set to play the ex-teammate of American Football legend Terry Bradshaw, who plays himself in the film, and tries to help figure out whether or not Bradshaw is the kids’ real father.

Bastards is set for release in 2016.
