Vivica A. Fox returning for Independence Day 2

March 24, 2015 by Scott J. Davis

Casting and pre-production are in full swing for Roland Emmerich’s anticipated sci-fi blockbuster sequel Independence Day 2, and now comes news that Vivica A. Fox, who co-starred in the original 1996 film, is returning for the new installment. Emmerich confirmed the news via his Twitter account, posting a quick snap with the actress…

Charlotte Gainsbourg (Nymphomaniac) was last week announced as joining the cast, which also includes Jeff Goldblum, Liam Hemsworth, Jessie Usher and Bill Pullman, though Pullman’s involvement is still not 100% confirmed. Rumours suggest that Usher will be playing the son of Will Smith’s Captain Steven Hiller, Dylan, and that Hemsworth is reportedly playing the son-in-law of Pullman’s President.

Independence Day 2 will start shooting in May ahead of a release in June 2016.
