Wargaming celebrates 4 years of World of Tanks on consoles

February 9, 2018 by Andrew Newton

Time flies when you’re having fun and time has certainly flown for World of Tanks fans as Wargaming announce the game’s fourth anniversary on console.  First released on the Xbox 360 back in 2014 then coming to the Playstation 4 and the Xbox One family, World of Tanks console has reached a community of 14 million players.  Wargaming will be celebrating this fourth anniversary in style with an experience multiplying party event, discounts on premium time and a free tank.

Wargaming will be kicking off the anniversary celebrations by giving away the Japanese Tier II Ashigaru Te-Ke tank to all tank commanders who log in to the game and win a single match during February.  This is a nice little light tank for those wanting to start out on the Japanese tech tree.

From the 9th – 12th February tank commanders can take part in a XP multiplying War Party event with a special Anniversary bonus of x5 XP for one day only on the 9th February.  There will also be discounts on Premium time and XP Boost Ops from 9th-13th February and a variety of special bundles and silver bonuses throughout the month.

Meanwhile, on the World of Tanks Facebook page Wargaming  will give away a series of rare art prints based on World of Tanks Console War Stories from renowned artists including Georgios Skodras, Aleksey Rico, Butcher Billy and Brett Parson.

“We are proud to be celebrating our four year anniversary with our tankers,” said TJ Wagner, Executive Producer and Project Lead at Wargaming West. “The dedication of the World of Tanks community has made every success in this game possible, and we look forward to sharing our combined passion for many more years to come – not only with new content, but also surprising additions in the near future.”

As well as the anniversary celebrations Wargaming have a brand new tree of nine formidable Chinese Tank destroyers ready to enter the fray, so these are ones to look out for.

Make sure you join in the celebrations this February on World of Tanks.
