Warhammer 40,000: Darktide next free update arriving this December

November 20, 2024 by Andrew Newton

The next free update for Fatshark’s Warhammer 40,000: Darktide is set to arrive on all platforms on 3rd December.  The Grim Protocols update brings new content such as weapons and game mode and a special time-limited event celebrating the second anniversary of the game.  Watch the new trailer below….

The Grim Protocols update brings a new game mode for those who think they have the vanquished Chaos threat over Tertium.  The new Havoc mode is an end-game experience that will test the abilities of the most seasoned of player.  This mode includes a variety of daunting challenges that will test the loyalty in even the most devout of the followers of the God-Emperor.  Those who complete these challenges will be rewarded with new cosmetic items.

A loyal operative gets ready to ambush the cultists whilst they prepare for their ceremony.

Players will also be able to access the new Dark Communion mission that takes them back to the Carnival to face hordes of cultists. However, fighting them will be more enjoyable with the new weapons capable of tearing through the enemies.  These weapons include the Two-Handed Force Sword that is useful for Psykers in melee combat, the Two-Handed Power Sword for Zealots in melee combat, and the Ogryn Heavy Stubber that blends suppressive fire with marksman capabilities.

To celebrate the game’s second anniversary, Fatshark will host a new event that will reward players with a unique weapon trinket which players will be able to wear with pride.

Look out for the Grim Protocols update arriving on 3rd December.
